Our Suppliers
Our success relies largely on our ability to offer our customers diverse and attractive product assortments at highly competitive prices. This, in turn, can only be achieved by maintaining close, long-lasting relationships with suppliers in a wide variety of product areas. It is a mutual partnership, where both parties engage in a continuous exchange of product and market information, imperative for staying in the forefront of market trends and changing consumer preferences.
Our suppliers also benefit from dealing with one, single “one-stop” purchaser, instead of individually with the sizable number of operators we represent. The model also enables easier distribution to a single recipient, eliminating the need for deliveries to each individual operator.
Inflight Service’s supplier base comprises well over 350 partners in the product areas Accessories, Confectionary, Perfumes & Cosmetics, Tobacco Goods and Wine & Sprits. Among our partners you find renowned world brands as well as smaller, regional and upcoming labels in a carefully balanced mix that provide our customers with the edge to maximize sales.

Our Suppliers – Chocolate & Confectionary
NORDIC PEOPLE definitely have a sweet tooth, consuming more sugar confectionary per person than any other people in the world. Mixed assortments in bags are particularly popular in this subcategory, but in recent years, high-grade dark chocolate has increased dramatically in popularity and is today the fastest growing segment in the Nordic area. Riding on this trend, manufacturers of more exclusive chocolate products are strengthening their position in travel retail. Consumer preferences within the Nordic market are, however, not homogeneous and national distinctions exist. Finns, for instance, have a particular taste for liquorish and Danes for their marzipan. Overall, Nordic people are very loyal to their domestic brands. The combined product category ranks third in Nordic/Baltic travel retail, contributing by 21 percent of total sales.

Our Suppliers – Tobacco Goods
TOBACCO GOODS make up the smallest of the five main product categories in Nordic/Baltic travel retail, standing for around ten percent of total sales. Cigarettes remain the largest subcategory, but Swedish-style snuff (snus) and cigars are growing in popularity. Domestically, the countries present differences in customer preferences. For instance, high Norwegian cigarette prices have promoted the use of rolling tobacco, while low-end cigarette brands and snus attract many Swedes. Since the travel retail price of premium brand cigarettes is typically lower than the domestic price of low-end brands, low-cost labels have not gained a firm foothold in travel retail.

Our Suppliers – Wine & Spirits
WINE & SPIRITS is by far the single largest product category in Nordic/Baltic travel retail, making up more than one third of total sales. The leading position is to a great extent a result of very high domestic taxation. While Finland and Denmark have eased taxation drastically in recent years, Sweden and especially Norway continue to maintain tax levels that make travel retail prices a real saving. Sales benefit from the increasing consumption throughout the region. Consumers are also becoming increasingly discerning, choosing quality products in higher price ranges.
